Gorilla shot dead at Cincinnati zoo
« on: May 29, 2016, 10:20:45 AM »

A gorilla has been shot dead after a 4 year old boy crawled into the animal's enclosure.  Videos shot at the scene show the 17 year old male gorilla apparently protecting the child but other reports say he dragged the child who was deemed to be at risk.

What do you think?  Why was the child not being properly supervised by his parents and why was there even a point of entry that he managed to crawl through.

We will never know the facts but what a tragic shame  :'(

Just looked at clip, think if gorilla meant harm he would have done something, looked protective not aggressive. Boy looked remarkably calm. Maybe tranquilliser gun might have been better, but gorilla !right have lashed out.

Children do wander, but zoo also at fault for hole in fence. We don't really know whole story.

I agree cubagirl and we can only comment on what we are shown, we weren't there.  Still a crying shame for the gorilla and the child though.  the video reminded me a bit of King Kong holding the girl.
