Help please

Help please,
Anyone who has read my post before knows i have had mirena for just over a year  - for prolonged heavy bleeding. This took 9 months to stop. Elleste solo 40mcg was added about 3 months ago as i was found to be low in oestrogen and suffering with brain fog. Now the bleeding has started again. Have the patches built up my womb lining? I thought the mirena would overrule the oestrogen? Should i be concerned? Should i stop the patches to see if it stops? Dont know which way to go 😔

Don't alter anything until somewhere replies with HRT knowledge.  Or visit a Pharmacist locally, they have private rooms these days.  Does it explain in any of the leaflets?

Minnniemouse - you are still peri meno and so may be getting fluctuations in your oestrogen levels. The Mirena doesn't actually stop bleeding for everyone.
Here is the section on this site that explains about the effects of the Mirena:
Progestogenic absorption throughout the body is minimal so reducing progestogenic side effects. The effect of Mirena on the womb lining can significantly reduce bleeding and when used as part of an HRT regimen, in time, 30 to 60% of women have no bleeding at all.

In other words, some bleeding is quite normal.  If you were very post meno then there could be cause for concern.

Keep using the patches, the bleeding will probably settle in time.  DG xxx

Thank you so much for the reassurance. I have also recently been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid, so have that to contend with too - particularly troubled with anxiety. So glad i have found this forum!
