An Update ( Sort Of ).

Hello ladies.
I hope you don't mind but this is more of decision reached than an update.
I've had lots of palps today and of course my flushing and quivering have continued so I decided to take a Beta Blocker and I may take them regularly until I see my GP. I will also try and get a doctors appointment asap and ask to try Oestrogel and Utrogestan as recommended by the ladies here. I have been using Evorel Conti patches for a year and although they've helped reduce my irritability they never stopped the other stuff! I will report anything of interest.
In other news, I was talking to our builder and he said his wife is going through the menopause, doesn't sleep and spends all day ' huffing and puffing '. This comment made me realise that I do that too and wondered if other ladies also did this and could it be another manifestation of anxiety? It sort of feels like shallow breathing and I have to force myself to take a deep breath. He also said that she says some horrible things to him and he asked me if I thought she meant them? I didn't want to add to his problems so I told him that the menopause means we can speak harshly without really thinking! Sort of true I guess.
Take care ladies and here's to better day tomorrow.

The shallow irregular breathing is part and parcel of anxiety for me. It makes all the symptoms much worse as the carbon dioxide balance of body is thrown out of kilter. It is a bad habit that I've developed over years as I talk too fast, eat too quickly, gulp and swallow air and so on. I've been doing mindful breathing and general breathing techniques like 7 11 breathing and they do help to calm it all down.
Fingers crossed you get your HRT sorted to one that helps all your symptoms x

changes can be scary, even when we want them

Hi Kathleen, I huff and puff, but it is when I am in a low mood or am irritable - it's not anxity or shallow breathing with me.
Mostly, I don't even notice it myself. It's only The Man gently says "have you got a puncture" that I can hear myself doing it. Must have been driving him mad all day with it.

Hello coldethyl, sparkle, CLKD and Noodle.
Thank you all ladies for your comments. I have managed to get a GPs appointment for tomorrow and I'll update the forum.
I gave MMs details to the builder for him to pass on to his wife. You know how it is girls, the more, the merrier!
Best wishes everyone.
