Hello ladies I'm 48 and had a hysterectomy in December 2015, and am on hrt. I have a lot of health problems besides the menopause but am suffering with acne on my chest and back. This is something I suffered with years ago as well as in my teens. I have been the docs and was prescribed oxytetracycline but really don't want to take them. Does anyone else suffer with this problem going thro the menopause and if so what have u found to work. Tia :(

Morning!  HORMONES  >:(  ::)

Browse round, make notes.

If the medication that your GP has prescribed is likely to work, what have you to lose?

Hello Jayney8

I had really bad skin until I was 30, and  it really used to get me down.

I have taken both oxytetracycline and erythromycin orally in the past.  Both quite effective.

From memory the oxytetracycline was fine, I don't recall any ill effects but you have to take it on an empty tummy to get full effect which was a bit of a pain!
