Vagifem/caruncle
« on: April 10, 2016, 08:18:04 PM »

I was diagnosed with this 5 years ago and gave in a year ago and started using vagifem because the caruncle was making me feel as if I was going to wet myself all the time ::)- how I imagine a uti might feel ( never had one).
The vagifem worked wonders and it reduced in size considerabley and went from angry looking to pale pink.
I have used the vagifem twice a week for past year but slowly slowly the caruncle irritation is returning at times. My husband says the caruncle is not looking irritated like it did without the vagifem but it is getting a bit bigger again.
i know the recommended dosage is 10mg twcie a week but I have read on here of others using it more often or reloading every now and again.
Before I go back to my GP and flash my bits again wondered if I should maybe use it 3 times a week for a few weeks??

My doctor is happy for me to use Vagifem five times a week and the meno specialist I now see said using it every day would not cause any problems.
So perhaps do a reload and use more frequently as well.

Thanks Tinkerbell.  Will use an extra one a week and see if it helps.

Thanks sweetscarlett.  The standard treatment for a caruncle at entracne of urethra is vagifem, not heard of anything else being used.  Will have a talk to the lady dr at practise though ( she looks about 12 so not sure she is overly experienced in meno matters!)
