outer ear pain
« on: April 07, 2016, 11:16:24 AM »

Hello every one , just wondered if any one else has this problem I am a side sleeper and when I wake which is quiet often through the night i have this awful pain on my outer ear, i have changed loads of pillows the latest just cost me £85, ive been up a few hours now and it still aches and feels hot, this has happened on and off for about 10 yrs , there never seems any reason for it, any advice how to make this ear comfortable would be gratefully received... sounds a silly complaint but it is sore for hours later ,..thanks in advance x

A while back, I kept getting burning ear lobes but mainly on the right ear. Not sure what it was but I do have arthritis in my neck and shoulders and I have terrible posture. I quite often get pain behind my ear, again on the right. At present, I keep getting itchiness behind my right ear. It keeps coming and going but I wondered if it was through 'sweating' when I'm asleep as I do tend to lay on that side. I did ask a Pharmacist about it once and she said it's something that is irritating me, perhaps my shampoo. I do change my shampoos quite frequently but the one I use lately, I have been using for quite a while now so may try and change it.

Perhaps ask a Pharmacist or make an appointment with the GP?

I think I have had something like this but it doesn't last that long.  When I Get it which doesn't happen a lot it is so painful.  I thought it was a common thing. I presumed it was the nerves getting trapped have you googled it?

Yep.  Exactly the same.  It improves if I turn over, rub the affected outer lobe …….
