Prempak C - thinking of changing to new hrt
« on: March 28, 2016, 11:38:33 PM »

Hi everyone,

I'm new here.  I've been in the menopause for two years and struggled with hot flushes, night sweats etc, all the usual lovely stuff  ;)  Anyway, just before Christmas I decided to give hrt a try.  My Gp prescribed Prempak C 0.625mg which I got on great with for a few months but just recently I've noticed I have bloating all the time, my breasts are huge and I'm suffering terribly with mood swings and irratibility.  I've also put on 10lbs in weight which is definitely the Prempak C as I've been the same weight for 25 years! The menopausal symptoms have all gone so I don't want to stop taking hrt but I had a conversation with a friend who is taking Climesse and she says it's working great for her; no weight gain or bloating so just wondering if anyone here has taken Climesse or could you recommend another hrt brand with fewer side effects please?  Thanks so much.

 :welcomemm:
Sorry to hear you are having a bad time.
Prempac seems to be the first hrt most Dr prescribe as it is cheapest!  I had similar experience. Haven't tried Climesse but have tried higher dose Prempac, Elleste and Femostan none of which agreed with me, all, of which made me anxious.  Now trying separate and biodentical oestrogen and progesterone in the form of Ustrogen and Estrogel. Early days to know whether or not it is working as still feeling anxious.  Many womwn on here seem to find this the best solution, but not all.  If you have a look on other threads and Dr Studd link you will find lots of info. I'm sure someone with experience of Climesse wil come along shortly.

Good luck
