M&S selling full length 'burkini' swimwear
« on: March 20, 2016, 01:21:29 PM »

I really think I'd like one of these. It could actually transform a day on an English beach for me!

I'm just thinking, I could put it in before going, then just wear it all day - in and out of the sea if needing to cool down, no worrying about getting changed all the time, sunburn or having to plaster on the factor 50 (ALWAYS managing to miss bits which later burn like hell!).  As well as covering all the bits of my bod that no-one but me would want to look at.  Seems like a win win idea.

If M&S really go for this and sell the suits as 'solar suits' rather than 'burkinis' as some are suggesting, and make them in a range of colours not just black, I reckon they could be onto something.  They've been selling suits like this for little kids for years, why not for us adults who find sun exposure problematic too.

I would love an all over covering so that I don't have to shave my legs  ;D.  I suppose the nearest are kaftans?

Not just hairy legs CLKD, would cover wobbly bits, bingo wings, varicose veins and anything that's further South than it used to be! Or is that just me??

Couldn't you just wear leggings and a long sleeved t-shirt? There doesn't seem to be much difference looking at the range!

Nothing new here!  these have been around for years, just not at M and S.  Nigella Lawson was pictured wearing one years ago.

I don't 'do' e-Bay  ::) - nor do I swim.  I love long walks along the beach though - now we will be able to identify each other by the all encompassing 'burka'-type covering  ;D
