Muscle issues?
« on: January 02, 2016, 08:15:47 AM »

I go to a naprapath regularly (once every 3 months). Last time (a few weeks ago) my right hip was SO stiff, and she said that my whole right side of the back was really stiff. She fixed that. But I have some on-and-off pinching pains in my stomach, my side and back. It moves around a little, but generally is felt on my right side. Can muscle aches do this, or should I worry about other stuff...? I have some hip flexor issues that the naprapath says can be experienced as ovary pain.

I have felt very "hormonal" the last week or so. Ended my period, snd then possibly ovulated again right afterwards. Have had some stomach issues the last few days, a tad of nausea. A little bit of anxiety and weepy feelings too... Not my best days, in other words....

Hi - I didn't know what a naprapath was, had to look it up, sounds interesting. I don't have any type of treatment though could probably do with it, I'm as stiff as a board and terrible posture (computer), keep promising myself to start yoga.

I digress, I have exactly what you describe but on the left side, also irregular ovulation (saw your other post about this). I do have fibroids. Just had three weeks of pains moving about, very bad left hip, stomach issues. I was about to give in and go to the Doc's, and probably would have done if it had not been Christmas, when the period from hell struck and is still ongoing. However the moving pains and joint pains, bloating, anxiety, etc. all stopped, just 'normal' period pains. So I have concluded for the time being that all the previous issues were hormonal. I'm keeping a track of daily symptoms now to see if the pains return next week.

This meno thing is great isn't it  :(

Hi 20032003

I've never heard of a napropath  :-\

No-one can tell you what is the cause of your particular pains. As you say it could just be a bit of a stomach upset - we all get these from time to time - but if you have persistent unfamiliar stomach pains then you should get checked out by a regular doctor through the NHS to make sure there is nothing wrong.

Hope you feel better soon.

This whole mess started over a year ago and I did go to a doctor back in December 2014 and beginning of 2015. Blood tests, fecal tests and two rectoscopies  (because of rectal pain). Nothing out of the ordinary, except for a hemmorhoid. Butt is better these days, but stomach seems to "flare up" once in a while. I'm still trying to sort out whether it gets worse with certain foods. New Year's Eve I had onions, garlic, tomatoes and spices. Plus lots of bubbly wine. Stomach did not seem to like this. On top of it, I've had a stomach that's reacted to hormones in the past. Horrible diarreah and pain with my period....

Do you mean when I go to the naprapath? In that case, I guess it's like going to a chiropractor, but the naprapath uses "softer" methods to manipulste muscles and joints. However, when she does push down on a muscle knot, you probably don't think of it as soft.... ;) Does wonders for stffness and pain, though. She REALLY helped me with a severly stiff neck a while back. A licensed naprapath in Sweden has 5 years of school/training, so I feel quite safe going to her for treatments... :)

Just wondering if my pains are hormone related, my left arm pains quite a lot the last few months and yesterday my right arm started, not a constant pain comes and goes and generally achy body. I had a hysterectomy 3 and a half years ago (still have ovaries) I'm coming up to my 52nd birthday so I guess i'm at that wonderful age  >:D

Have had a couple of my other weird symptoms today too. Wecome back strange burning sensation on the outside of my left thigh. Nothing to be seen, just the sudden sensation of burning. Also, welcome back itchy, slightly sore boobs.... Something hormonal must be going on!

No, but they are a little more erratic. In October I had two periods, since they were only 22 days apart. Unusual, because my periods are usually about 28 days apart. The one I just had came 31 days after the last one, though. But this time I had eggwhite mucus just a couple of days after my period ended - with quite a lot of uterine cramping - so possibly another short cycle?

I also have some low-level nausea and not so much appetite since friday (when I woke up with diarreah). Hormones, a bug or something else? That's the question....

I was up in the night with lower tummy pains, definitely feels like bowel rather than ovaries but to be honest I'm not sure I can separate the two anymore!

I don't know that either half the time. It has been a confusing year and a half for me. My stomach has gone back and forth for me a lot. I had the stomach flu beginning of December. A proper one with vomiting, diarreah, fever - the works. After that my tummy was really good, but the last few days not so much. Anxiety ptobably plays a role too. Don't know how many saw my health anxiety post? I finally (after a year's wait) got a stomach x-ray appointment. It's taken so long that I guess that I started thinking that nothing serius can be wrong by now. But I really think that this has set off a brand-new anxiety attack for me. I go back and forth in my head on whether I should do this. My husband thinks I'm insane for even considering putting myself through it. I guess he has seen me doing better and better now for the last few months. Last year about this time I was a wreck. Didn't eat, didn't sleep, depressed, anxious... I have picked up my hobbies again, accepted peri (read a lot about it), been "cleared" at the gyno twice, etc. I don't want to fall back again...!

Have you tried keeping a food diary.  That's what I've done but for another problem, not with my bowels.  It showed up sugar, chillies, wheat and dairy as being the main culprits.
