Fybromyalgia question
« on: December 22, 2015, 09:10:49 AM »

Does anyone  else with this nasty condition find that they can get an attack with the run up to any event, such as Xmas....I went to bed feeling OK and woke up feeling dreadful.
Now worried about spoiling everyone's Xmas.. :'(

I have cfs and fibromyalgia and they have really flared up over last couple weeks. Slowly recovering. I need to encourage myself really as I have done well as long as I don't give in to comparing myself to other people.
How are you all doing now?

I'm waiting for a general at the hospital now due to infected wisdom tooth root that has to be removed. It started a month ago was in agony for a few days it has been ok since, but now fearful of the general anaesthetic effects and how its going to affect me.
It just seems that every single day there's something, headache, nausea, digestive, depression and anxiety etc etc. I'm trying to learn that whatever is going on, a part of me at least can cope even if its just a very small part.

I have been feeling very down since before Xmas, so my Fybro has been really bad and I have been feeling sick most days.   Anyone else feel sick with the Fybro?  I worry that my stomach is twisting again , although my doctor says it won't be ( it twisted a few years ago and I had a big op to stitch it down )
I had surgery on my spine last year and  it has made things worse and I now know  I won't get any better, so I am naturally feeling depressed about it, and this will have brought the Fybro on...... shouldn't moan but hard not to  >:(

Hi sparkle I hope you are feeling ok and things improving for you Ellie.
I last had a general when I had a D and C in the early 90's. Do they still do that procedure for heavy periods? I didn't have a bad reaction.
Its just because I seem to be so fragile emotionally and physically these days I'm worried it will leave me in a bad way. I hope I can talk it through at the pre op appointment.
Lots good wishes  :)

Ellie I very much find that to be the case. Any event or going away and my system just seems to shut down. Pain levels go up, IBS flares up. I always feel its caused by the anxiety and fear of not knowing how I'm going to cope. When I visit my grandchildren which is so important to me, I really panic as 2 or 3 times I've gone down with a sickness bug when I've been there, which I have a phobia about.
I hope you are feeling a bit better now. The surgery on your spine sounds painful. How did you cope with the anaesthetic?

Newbeginnings,  anaesthetics don't bother me at all , I have never had any problems.
Yes it's very difficult to plan anything when you have Fybro , because you can go to bed feeling fine, and wake up feeling dreadful..... And when you have got somthing planned, even something as simple as babysitting, you worry that you might have to let people down.......and of course, that worry can bring on your Fybro.......one long vicious circle  ;D
