having a right old time of it
« on: October 30, 2015, 11:25:28 AM »

Hi Ladies,

I don't write much here but read forum messages quite a bit and they help so much. I feel like I belong and almost know the regulars who post.

I am having a rough old time lately anxiety sky high, every week I go to drs for help, I am taking everal sequi HRT this has helped my depression a bit and propropnal to help the anxiety.i am trying to come off lorazepam.

I have been up all night with minor chest  back and stomach pains..and huge anxiety..this time gp listened to me I had an ECG today. I have been prescribed citralpram and obviously scared to take it but have no choice really, I have never felt so scared and alone as I do now I need to take ADs to feel better but so scared of the side effects.

Any way thanks for reading x

 :bighug: Hi Crazydaisy
I feel for you but it will get better. I was in this position about 18 months ago, always running back and forward to GP looking for something to fix anxiety. I take HRT and at the time started propanalol for the anxiety, it did take the edge off things but i had to learn to cope and then suddenly found myself in a really good place for over a year, but the past week has been bad for me, health anxiety out of nowhere! Today i feel normal though.
I cant help with the depression part or the meds but its worth trying them, try not to read to much of side effects it can scare you. Im sure loads of women on here can relate and will be along soon to give some advise.
This forum is great for us, helps when you know there are people who understand what your going through. Please keep us updated on how you get on with ADs

 :bighug:  ………..

It may be a side effect of stopping the medication  ::) ; generalised tension which can affect the back and stomach muscles; which causes anxiety which feeds on itself.

When does the GP want to see you again?

CLKD...I never took it every day just about 2 times a week but as my anxiety I,s increasing so is my want for lorazepam so I feel I do have some addiction going on so I must nip it in the bud, I see my GP on Monday.

I have taken my 1st Citralopram which for me is a huge step..have a headache but might be from tiredness rather than a side effect, but don't feel to bad yet. I hope to get some sleep tonight,

Thanks Ladies x

What dose were you on?  It lasts about 36 hours for me so I have a huge panic, grab the medication and have a couple of 'better' days.  2 a week ain't much, I thought you were taking it 2/3 times a day  ::)

The change of clocks; lack of hydration; worry; hunger; sleeping not enough/too much; not enough exercise …… can all cause headaches  ;)

I was on 1mg so not taking much really, but my body was getting used to it and felt as if I needed to increase it also my GP wont give me any more, lorazepam is very addictive 1mg is the same as 10mg diazepam. I must admit if I took it in the morning I would be relaxed all day and sleep better at night. I like it too much..it works well and quickly.

I seem ok on the beta blockers its nice not to shake and have a fast feeling heart, but does not quieten my mind but its not the same. x

1mg is what I take as necessary, up to 3 times a day if required.  I've never needed more than 1 every so often.  Because I know it works.  Have you tried Rescue Remedy?

Hi,

Just a little update I did not do well on the citralopram....GP changed me Mirtazapine and so far its been a lot better my anxiety has been much better and my mood is better. I am sleeping too.

I have started CBT and talking therapy, so this with HRT should get me on the right track.

Been told to cut out my coffee intake as this can cause some of my anxiety. x
