Hello I am new today
« on: December 20, 2015, 05:14:10 PM »

Hello there - My name is Lydia and I believe I am premenopausal. I am 43, my periods have become irregular (four months between my last ones), I have hot flushes from time to time and I get pretty anxious.
I am going to see my Doctor on Wednesday to chat about this but am so glad to have found this site, and I hope to engage conversation with many of you as I experience things further.
I have no children and live on my own, and most of my friends are around the same age and still have normal cycles, so this is very good for me to be able to share.
I will peruse the site, but will be happy to say hello and chat to anyone who messages me and I will post following my doctors appointment on Wednesday.
Much love, Lydia.

Hello and welcome.  This forum has been really helpful to me so I'm sure it will help you too.  Hope you get on ok at your doctor's appointment.  I'd really recommend informing yourself from the articles on this site first, as some GPs need pushing before they will consider peri for women your age - it helps if you have some information to back up what you are thinking!  Let us know how you get on.

Welcome Lydia, you will find everyone on here helpful -  very helpful.  It's also good just to be able to 'sound off' as well. :)

Welcome from me too Lydia. I hope all went well at the docs this morning.

It's soo good to know we are not the only ones experiencing all these weird symptoms. :)

Hi Lydia, and welcome to MM. I'm another 43 year old without children, so your post struck a chord. How did you get on at the doctors? x

Hi Lydia

 :welcomemm: from me too!

How did you get on at the docs?

If your periods are few and far between and you are only 43 then sounds like you are heading for an early menopause so should take HRT at least until the natural average age of menopause. The further you are towards actual menopause the easier it is to settle on HRT because your own hormones may not be fluctuating quite as much.

Do let us know and if we can help further? In the mean time do read as much as you can using the tabs above starting here maybe? http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/menopause.php - there is a huge amount of helpful information on this site!

Hurdity x :)
