Hi Daisie

I think you mentioned earlier that you'd been on a Conti HRT ever so briefly only in the last year.

The Conti has progesterone included so you should have never been exposed to unopposed estrogen.

You'd have had to take estrogen on its own for quite sometime to get this problem.

"it did say in the book that if you dont have progestorone to balance the estrogen the lining of the womb builds up  and it can cause cancer"

This is what I tried to explain on another post on the forum.

This unopposed estrogen can happen to those of us not taking HRT through our journey. This unfortunately is something thats not well understood or explained by the doctors. The docs concentrate on the BC scare stories and don't explain that the regular HRT progesterone helps keep our uterus healthier by either regular bleeds on sequi or by stopping bleeds altogther with conti.

Just want to explain that just incase other ladies confuse the problems.

Once you've had your operation then you should be able to use Estrogen only HRT and gain from the benefits and extra safety seen with that option.

Will keep an eye out for your updates and wish you all the very best in the next few weeks.

I had HRT briefly then several years later a breast lump removed which had 'changes'.  Tamoxifen can also cause womb problems apparently ……. so whilst protecting possible recurrence of breast disease …….

Quality of Life is important to me.  Once your surgery is over take time to recover well …….. then you can consider the next step.

Hi daisie

I am just catching up with posts on the forum and have just seen this. So sorry to hear about your diagnosis but as others have said it has been diagnosed at a very early stage which has the best possible prognosis. I imagine that this means you won't have to have radiotherapy or chemotherapy and that the hysterectomy will remove the cancerous cells completely? Something for you to find out hopefully when you see the consultant and can ask him/her questions. It sounds like the polyps may have been the cause of the cancerous cells if you have had problems with these in the past? Have they occurred only in post-menopause or did you have them while younger too?

Anyway, now, the most important thing is for you to feel relaxed and calm about your operation and I do hope it all goes well for you.

Take care and wishing you all the very best!

Try and draw comfort from the fact you are not classed as an emergency. If things had been dire then you would have been taken straight away but they are not so it's safe to wait.

I do understand totally your need to get it over with as quickly as possible but if you turn your thoughts around to ....Well I'm not an emergency then it might help.

Big hugs for today.

It's in your face.  You can't get away from those worrying thoughts!

Who is at home with you?

And plenty to keep you busy :)

Even heading out to the local coffee shop might just be enough to clear your head for a while.

Maybe prepare food and do extra shopping before you go in for Surgery then you won't need to worry about it whilst in Hospital and there will be stuff at home once you return  ;)
