Hi JGR
if you think its down to lack of hormones then you have the patches. So add an extra half patch for a week or 2.
See how you feel. If its lack of estrogen then you should see the blips disappear.
The other option is to change patch sooner as other posts have mentioned a drop off in the patches working near the end of the 3.5 days we're supposed to wear these 2 per week patches. Changing sooner might prevent the blips your having. If you diary them and when you change patches then you can see if they match up.
Also there is a possibility that your testosterone is low also. This can give some of the symptoms you have mentioned.
As we age the ability to produce enough a woman needs is diminished also.
To say its not meno without some other option is just terrible. Very short sighted.
The trouble is as we age we need "MORE" not "LESS" hormones. Our background ability to make our own diminishes as we age so for most of us the perfect dose is a moving target.
Old School thought that we should "reduce" as we age.
However new thinking including the British Menopause Society advise keeping us to the dose that best removes our symptoms for as long as we want. Not due to any doc's old view - our decision our treatment our lives...
I agree with CKLD, there is also an aspect of this that is down to "money" that doc's think they are spending on us.
I hope things improve soon.
