Hi Kimberley, I can't comment on hrt as the ones I tried made me feel wired and raging, but I understand completely how you feel....I am also feeling desperate at the moment.....I took 1/4 Valium this morning as woke up really early and stomach started going then anxiety started.....maybe if you say to doc you'll only take them as and when needed xxx

Valium should only be used for the here and now problems - like calming anxiety down not for the longer term problems like lack of sleep and rages. I would go back to the doctor and ask for his advice - and not for valium.

Any excuse not to prescribe Valium?   :bang:

Go back to your GP and tell him you need something 'now', not be worrying about 'what ifs'! Ask also for the 'link' to the supposed 'research'?  No one knows what causes dementia-type problems, for years it was thought that it was down to aluminium saucepans  >:(

Valium has its uses CLKD but not as a regular 'cure' for sleeplessness and bad moods. It is a potent drug and should only be used as a once-off dose for anxiety/panic attacks and then only in an emergency when all other calming measures have been tried and failed. Kimberly is not complaining about anxiety at the moment but sleeplessness and bad rages and I doubt very much that a doctor would prescribe Valium for that.

'once-off' ………… I used it 'as necessary' successfully for years without getting addicted because I knew it worked when required.  As does the current emergency med..  My point being that the GP seems to be finding excuses not to prescribe Valium by associating use with dementia instead of addressing the health problem!

I don't think anyone sees it as a 'cure' these days  :-\ ……… if I had to rely on 'other calming measures' I wouldn't be here.
