Hello everyone - I'm new to this site but so glad to be on this forum.

 I'm 40 yrs old and had my ovaries removed in 2010 after my dear mum died of ovarian cancer... I had a scan for peace of mind & they found a large, nasty cyst which had the potential to become cancerous, so was advised to remove both ovaries.
I've been trying to find the right HRT for the last 5 years.... It's been v difficult. Weight gain & low mood been the main side effect.
I am now on Climesse 2mg but have been bleeding on and off. I am also constantly dizzy and have nearly fainted on 5 different occasions.

Has anyone else had similar problems. I'm really struggling at the moment and not sure which way to turn.
I'm told I need to stay in HRT until I'm 50 so coming off it doesn't seem to be an option. V cconfused.... Any advice greatly received. X

Hi and welcome to MM Benbobbellybob

It can be tough finding the right HRt preparation.  Do read up all the info on this site to get really clued up. 

I had an early menopause so had to have HRT from my late 30s. This was back in the early 90s and after trying so many different HRTS ended up going to a private clinic where they put me on Oestrogel with separate progesterone cyclically - so this maintained a regular withdrawal bleed. Progesterone tends to be the part of HRT that can cause the problems , particularly the synthetic types. Some women don't do well on continuous HRT because of the continuous use of progesterone and you may be reacting to this. Problematic bleeding should really be investigated to check your womb lining is not building up too much. 
It might be an option to try a sequential HRT like Femoston 1/10 which would give you a predictable monthly bleed and the progesterone in this HRT is kinder and better tolerated by many women. I'm afraid it is trial and error and as you are young your do need HRT.  Perhaps ask to be referred to a meno clinic or gynae for advice.

There are many knowledgeable ladies on this site who can advise you but may also want to consider emailing Dr Currie and ask her opinion.

You are very young to be going through all this and help is out there.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.... Its all very unpleasant at the moment. Hope to get an appointment with my HRT specialist soon. Until then just got to take it one day at a time... X
