Early yet Ellie, what time do the Vets start surgery?  I am sure she will be fine and lapping up any extra cuddles on her return.  10 isn't old! and if the heart condition (common in Cavaliers) is under control, the Vets. will take all that into account.  Anaesthesia is much better controlled than years ago  ;).  Bet the house is oh so quiet  :-\

Sorry my mistake she is almost nine not ten.....The vet hospital phoned, she is doing as well as they hoped, and they will phone me again around five ....  She also suffers from another well know Cavi thing called Siringomylia (might have spelt that wrong) ....a horrid condition that affects their brain and spinal cord and causes a lot of pain....She has lots of meds for that.  So with that and her heart problem, an operation is a big deal for her  :'(

Ellie, the vets would not have done this if they didn't think she could cope and make a good recovery. She will be fine, dogs live for the moment and no further.
Are they keeping her overnight or will you get her home.

Yes CKLD have to admit I feel done in.....Lets hope when I go for my MRI scan they don't find anything too wrong.   I shouldn't think the spinal leak I had will have caused the numbness I have.

Bringing her home tomorrow afternoon Honeybun.....You are right, she will be sore, but not giving us a thought.......The fun will start tomorrow, if we leave the room together, she has to be put in her cage, and that goes on for weeks.....and she can only go in the garden for a tinkle on her lead.
We had the cage when she was a puppy , but kept it because she goes in their when she has had enough of the Grandkids messing with her.......what a good job we kept it....

I had to borrow a cage, oh I remember it well but they bounce back really quickly. Really the only problem I had was I had to keep a cone round her neck as she is an obsessive licker.

Let us know how it goes.

I searched for this thread but it didn't show  :-\

Anyway - after F1 this afternoon, it's David Attenborough on now followed by Country File, Stritchly, Guy Martin flying a large plane and maybe Antiques Roadshow later this week.

M&S meal, Strictly results, bath with DH and finally I'm a Celeb. We are not on taxi duty tonight so we're making the most of it.

Enjoying our usual Sunday night snack supper - me: boiled egg, twiglets, an orange, maybe some cheese in a minute - Hubby: cheese and tomato on toast.
Then we're going to sit and watch a Michael Portillo travel programme (probably still munching........!)
