Oestrogel transfer to husband risk
« on: April 13, 2017, 10:52:24 AM »

Hi, I am 5 weeks post op TVLH & BSO plus stage 4 endo excision surgery. I plunged into surgical menopause with hot flushes and night sweats and have started taken two pumps of Oestrogel.
I'm just concerned how it will affect my husband though - he says he has had restless nights since I started using the Oestrogel - we don't touch for an hour after applying it, and I wear a nightie over my arm where I apply it. I've put it on at night as I get night sweats quite bad. Has anyone else had this problem with their partners?

Can't say my hubby complained of any side effects. I used for a number of years before switching to patches.

Thank you both. My symptoms are late afternoon and evening so switching to mornings isn't ideal. I can't find anywhere that restless nights for him are a side effect. Does anyone know what the side effects can be on our fellas?

Are you sure depending what time you use has an effect on your night sweats ?

I've not used gel but having used patches and oestrogen pills for years it's 24 hr cover for symptoms regardless of what time I've applied/taken them.  If gel is different I don't know any solution x

Are you sure you being restless isn't keeping him awake ?

Re the cat incident , yes it made the poor cats genitals swell and was seriously ill , always make sure my dogs don't go near my legs after application .

Don't worry about hubby though , is rhat wrong 😉 . Try your inner thigh , it's where most of us put the gel.
