Well monies are all secured and in place in principal,I've book marked on few houses we like the look of online, one in particular so with that in mind my nephew and OH is going to look at it tomorrow and take more photos for us and report back ,if it still looks favourable I will go up and have a viewing and also try to view the others whilst there, then when I've vetoed them DH can come have a look see  ;)
Excited now. Wish we weren't going away now even more but guess make most of it might be the last sand and sea holiday abroad for a while  ;D

Well the viewing didn't go that well so that's that one ruled out !
Still it was a bit of a long shot that the first one would fit the bill  :whist:

Back to drawing board. Can see that we really need to go up and do thorough reccy of different areas with a buyer's head on not a holiday head on.

That's a very sensible thought. I lived for years in a holiday town....loads of summer visitors. It was only because we were very familiar with the area before we moved there that we made a sensible decision. Parking was a big issue, being within walking distance because of parking. Being away from the busiest parts was very important.
Holiday towns are great...,vibrant with lots going on but if you can't get anywhere near your house is not ideal.

Good luck with your search....oh and ignore what estate agents tell you, it's generally rubbish....I know I worked for house builders and estate agents for many years  ::)

The advantage is to look on-line and send for 'hard' copies from the various agents in the area/s you are searching in.  That whittles it down and cuts out lots of travelling  ::)

We lived in a tourist area for years and DH doesn't think that he would like to return to that environment whereas I don't care, as long it's near the Coast!

Congratulations! How wonderful for you!

I have something to look forward to. DH has come into a little money, which has enabled him to book himself a place on a course in Denver in May, which we can extend into a trip around the Rockies and Wyoming, which has been on our bucket list. Yep, we should have spent the money on needed work on the house, but........... :D

How lovely, it will do you both a lot of good.  I always have thought that an unexpected windfall is just that, unexpected, and so it doesn't belong in the general budget.  Enjoy your trip  :)
