Dear ladies,
I have been away for the summer and sorting out family stuff.I realised yesterday I haven't been posting at all and felt bad. I am feeling so much better in myself. I don't know too much about the different types of HRT because Ive only tried it for 8 months but it has definitely worked for me. I feel much better now. I remember feeling so terrible this time last year and not having a clue what was wrong with me or what to do about it. I now feel that at least I have a handle on it and know where I'm going with my treatment. A lot of my strength to carry on came from this forum. I don't know how to express my gratitude other than to say thanks - you are a life saver…literally.

That's great   So glad you shared that with us, there is some hope after all.  For those lazy so and so's amoung us, which hrt are you on?

Sadlynda, my HRT was Elleste Duo first of all until I saw a specialist in HRT, Dr Annie Evans. She prescribed a capsule Utrogestan and a Estradiol gel.

GRL, I have sorted a lot of work issues out - thanks for remembering - we shall see. Thanks again for all the input.

If I find I'm still suffering extreme mood swings, and these nasty dips while on the Pill, then Dr Annie Evans is my next port of call.

I do, very occasionally, see a consultant on the NHS but I barely get chance to speak and the appointment is over in moments. Just not satisfactory at all.

Can I ask how your experience of her was? You're very welcome to message me if you would prefer.

Maybe up date us in your 'work' thread?  I think that once you feel more secure with your emotions you will be more secure in how you deal with 'stuff' at work!

CLKD, yes absolutely. I am totally lacking in self confidence right now. That has been one of the worst "symptoms" of this whole journey.It has threatened to undermine everything else at times.
I do feel very angry about how we as 'mature women' are expected to just carry on, when we are "hijacked" by our hormones. And then fight for every bit of treatment. Its not right - it just isn't. I have written an account of my experiences in this months magazine, in the hope that it will or may help someone. Ultimately we should not have to go private to receive the proper treatment for the menopause. Its a disgrace. After the drama of my emotional highs and lows I just wanted to report on feeling good in myself through getting the right advice.

Great news sallyg!! and yes this forum is a great support with lovely members when u need them. I have had the confidence thing and hormones controlling how i cope from day to day making work even more difficult and when u add unsupportive, demanding boss into the mix...its not a good recipe! No wonder people move to the sticks😤x
