I just wanted to have my say to hopefully help others. First my regular doctors ohhh all 4 of them were disgraceful when I first went with my menopause ( clearly not knowing at the time it was that but i was about 49.) Im a kick ass person and have been an athlete c ompeting for the best part of my life so to not be able to function... sleep  work  and dead sex life was a shock. I got told you are getting old get used to it!  I went round the doctors until i ld had enough and demanded to see a specialist. My point is dont let them fob you off I dread to think how many ladies have accepted the youre old reply and suffer. I was beyond tired however tired I was I still could not sleep and Id want to sleep in the day but just napped every few hours. Anyways turns out and this is a year later after starting livial that I have low t.  Ive been on testim for 2 months and after about 2 weeks I suddenly was normal again. Id stopped dragging myself around and feeling so down about my future as it felt like the menopause to me was a  crippling illness.  Ive read lots of info and threads that Dr dont like to give it out as you can get a deep  voice and masculine changes.  I was also in the bodybuilding world in my youth ( I never too those steriods) but you had to take masses to grow muscles which in turn does give you the male features. The only negative for me is I seem a lot more hungry and Im fighting this. Ive not been training as much and ive had two weeks of flu so im not sure if the slight weight gain is due to the testosterone. I am stronger in the gym and just so much more alive and happier. I also read low t can make ladies gain weight.  Im seeing my gyni next week to have more blood tests. He originally said blood tests dont count we look at the symptoms. Again i asked for one when id done a year n nothing had changed much on  my hrt  livial. One of the lovely ladies on here noted theres a special testosterone imported from Oz for us I think its going to  be a private prescription  costing about 175.00 for the year a out 50.00 for one tube lasting 100 days.  Dont give up im still not 100 pcnt but my energy is back and most is back together. Please get intouch or post if your on testosterone. Id love to hear from more ladies. Xx

   testosterone is difficult to get in the UK.

So pleased that you persevered and that the treatment is easing symptoms!  However, blood tests don't show how far down the meno journey we might/not be because hormones change all the while, my Gynae won't do them; he works on symptoms.  Let us know how you get on!

Thanks for your reply. This has had 114 views but noone must be on testosterone.  I posted on another thread but noone replied as to being on it. I had been in tears several times in the gynis office so I do know I had to scrape the barrel of desperation to get it.  If anyone reading this is on testosterone please get in touch. Thanks x
