Can I pop into the meno salon for a trim please?  :)

I've been colouring my hair for years and have tried most brands but now I use eSalon and it's the best I've found.

It's a web-based service: you answer lots of questions about your hair (colour, condition, how much grey you have, etc) - you can even upload a photo so they can see exactly what your hair's like (you don't have to, though). Then you pick a colour you'd like it to be (out of hundreds of shades!) and they mix a blend for you so that it works with your hair.

The only downside is that it's a US company so it takes a week to arrive after they ship it.

Once you've signed up, they send you your colour every six weeks - but you can easily change that or opt out completely and just re-order when you want. You can change shades whenever you want too.

Every other hair colour I've used has left my hair lank and horrible but this leaves it shiny and lovely for days afterwards.

(And no, I'm not on commission!)

Was also going to suggest esalon - the best quality and will make suggestions to suit you , laughed at the murder in the bathroom, have had one of those experiences, husband couldnt work out what had gone on - just be very organised for first few times with lots of old towels and buy some fine rubber gloves the boxed ones with the colour are too big, give yourself lots of time and at a time when no one is likely to call - actually have now reverted back to hairdresser as too stressful for me

Maybe Hurdity if you splashed out (get it ;-) ) at a hairdresses, a dye would last much longer because they have access to products not available to us at home ;-).  Too much colouring can dry out the hair - I can tell if people have been using home colours for years + as there is absolutely no life in their hair.

Haha CLKD - I'm far too far gone for that - it's nothing to do with what I use on my hair - the roots show through well before anything happens to the rest of the hair ie the awful badger look - which I can't abide! Also my hairstyle doesn't help - if I had it short and layered the roots wouldn't show so quickly but no I have it long layered just below the shoulder so any re-growth is there for all to see, hence the 3 weeks!

Anyone else have this problem and colour their roots this often or is it just me?!
