All done and dusted. Hubby did really well and managed to control his anxiety, which amazed me.  Not a very nice thing to go through and poor love was starving. He has also never drank so much water in his life!! The sedation didn't work so well and he had a few areas of painful moments, but got through it well.

We could have done without it be the hottest ever day, especially as the hospital air con failed!!

Results were good, just showed diverticulitis,  which was diagnosed in 2008, so no surprise. Got to see gp next week for follow up, but nothing sinister found and I cannot tell you how relieved we both are.

Thanks for all your tips, the lucozade, wipes and sudocream most especially!

I had 3 colonoscopies and a number of 'clear outs' for my cancer treatment. The list of food I am supposed to eat for the treatment is everything I shouldn't be eating for the cancer - white bread, sugary stuff, processed food, carbonated drinks.  I have to say I take little notice of this and keep to healthy eating, but just keep clear of some of the very high fibre stuff like pulses. It hasn't been an issue at all, everything comes out in the way it should (and quickly too !).

I've actually found colonoscopies amazing, I love to see my insides on screen. I've never been very photogenic so I tend to look better from the inside 

Glad it wasn't anything too sinister!
