Not that recently then. It did used to be that ovaries were removed but now, even post menopause, you have to have a really strong family history of ovarian cancer to make removal advisable. I guess it is one less thing to worry about cancer-wise but they do play a part in protecting us from osteoporosis and keeps the sexual feelings going.... apparently!
