If you can bear to then it would be wise to up your dose as soon as you can. I know you are worried about a reaction but you also don't want to get poorly due to consistent low levels and just think how great it will be to feel so much better once your level has returned to normal.

As a little consolation to anybody worried, in consultation with the drug company we gave put mt dreadful shaking and weakness down to the mechanism of vitamin D on blood sugar. It brings diwn blood sugar in diabetics and those with naturally low like me should be monitored. I wasn't and it obviously knocked mine very low, which it felt like it did too. Obviously 40000iu was too steep for my little body.
