So sorry to hear the news, not something we want to contemplate. Maybe his GP needs to address his depression in the first instance, make sure that the medication is working and perhaps arrange some talking therapy so that he can vent. Talking to a stranger helps enormously as it isn't putting a burden onto an already stressed family.

Yes that's it rosebud.
It's not great to be honest and a lot for him and my sister to take in. He is going to see his GP next week to get different meds that won't make him sleepy.
No doubt they will talk about he is coping and may well need to go back on ADs. My sister knows the signs and will make sure he gets help.
He has just worsened so much in the last two years....makes you wonder what's ahead for him.

Hopefully what ever, he and your sister will get support from his GP and the various 'agencies' and support groups associated with the condition.
