Any Tips......
« on: March 10, 2015, 07:43:55 AM »

Morning Ladies,

Any tips on how to survive a night where I don't have to get up and go to the toilet!!

I have disturbed nights and get up in the morning feeling exhausted.

Some days this "Meno Thing" is just crap isn't

Today I have done nothing but shed a tear for no reason at all - I have to try and pull myself together as I am off to work now and I know that I feel very sensitive today - hopefully I will be left alone fat chance there I work in a School.

Have a good day everyone - catch up later x

Hugs

Hi Hugs

your story sounded like mine.

Going out for the day was becoming like a "plan the toilet" stop off points.
And like you I had the urge to go over night.

Since I started on HRT all thats gone away and I can head out without fear of not finding a toilet.
And at night I seldom wake up for the loo (unless I've had a wine glass too many :) )

I was more grumpy than tearful tbh but once I started HRT, I had a few tearful moments in the first month (probably partly due to the doc making me feel like a failure for going on HRT).
But once I was past the first month emotions and any tears went.

I still have my "moments" and get angry when things don't go well (as to be expected) but I'm much more my old self again.

Hope things go better for you soon.

It is a difficult one - if you do not sleep well, you do not produce enough hormone to concentrate the urine and have to go to the loo.

If you go to the loo, you don't sleep well........... ::)

I started having to drink more water (so that urine is always straw-coloured - except in the morning) since having a kidney stone a few years ago.  I was told at the eneuresis clinic, with my daughter, that it helps with night time weeing.  And surprisingly, it does!  I think this is because the muscles get used to stretching, and the urine is less irritating.  It takes a few weeks though.

I have urge incontinence at times, so have to go to the loo pronto during the day.  This is worse if I do not keep my urine pale.  Vagifem helps (along with the other uro-genital probs)

He Peegee - the femoston is ok - on the end of pack 6.  I seem to start bleeding before the end of the progesterone pills, but took one late this month so that may have a bearing.  I got spotty, but I think that is settling down a bit over the last two months.

My neck joints are still sore from time to time but the rest are better.  I am trying to spend less time on the computer (and more in the sun) so hopefully I won't have to up the dose to 1mg.  My bladder has been better, although I am having an off-day today, out of the blue  ::)

Bleeding is heaps better.  I am going on a short holiday, then will start a bit more exercise after that.  I have realised that I am feeling stressed and hopeless, and the reason is that I am producing adrenaline all the time.  I will try and burn that off with a bit of exercise and look into Mickel therapy which I have heard is good for that.  I don't think it is the hrt as it is something that I have had a long time.  It has certainly been worse over the last 2 years.

This is very interesting thanks for your reply.  I have noticed that my urine isn't as clear as it should be so perhaps this is it I'm actually not drinking enough, even though I seem to drink all day!

Many thanks

The 1st pee of the day will be dark.  After which it should be straw coloured and non smelly - too pale and you are drinking too much.  If your kidneys haven't got enough to work on they will work harder so contrary to what we think, we should drink more in the evening ……. otherwise the kidneys feel irritated and get us up to pee  ::)

I've found drinking more and going to bed later helps.  Also, the more active I have been during the day, especially outside, the better I tend to sleep, so less likely to need to get up.

Is your pee cloudy.  If it is you may well have an infection.  Not every bladder infection comes with pain, you may just feel a bit off and pee a lot.  My first kidney infection was like that.  I had it for weeks before it suddenly went mega.

If it is cloudly best to get a test done.

I keep a glass at the sink and have a glass of water every time I go near the sink. I also drink a lot of water before bed....at least three glasses. I rarely get up in the night since I started drinking more.
I used to be a go to the loo just in case type person. The more I went the more I needed to go so I was told it was possible to retrain your bladder by waiting just for five more minutes if I could and then stretching that time out gradually. Now I can go a long time between visits and my control is much better.

Tea is the killer drink for me. In one end and out the other  ::)
