CP bless you

Don't let these GPS treat you like this ,your symptoms are very real we can all identity with you !

Insist on a referral if you want things looked into,or try to find a menopause clinic near you,or if you can get a private consultation with a gynecologist. You don't have to suffer these distressing feelings . Keep a diary ,take it with you so you / they can see where things dip and surge.
I have had the same problems in the past with gps but I'm not going to except it anymore ! We shouldn't have to do these things but sometimes you have to ,no-one knows your body like you do. Some people fortunately have really good gps and some unfortunately don't .
Keep posting there will always be support, sympathy and good info here x

:bang: :bang: :bang:  GPs have no RIGHT to dismiss us - it seems to be the female GPs that are worse  :-\ ……… it is against their Hypocratic Oath to refuse treatment.  However, they are strapped for cash apparently and GPs are retiring and Med Students are not joining up to be GPs  :'( ……… keeping a food/mood diary might help ladies: also sending a personal e-mail to Dr Currie on here would give you a basis for further discussion with a Consultant or Meno Clinic  ;).

Your symptoms should be acknowledged because we know our bodies best.  The only positive is that these female GPs will, one day ………  ;) get to our age!

I have been back to a different GP today, things had moved on since my last post,

I had a range of blood tests instigated by the female GP, (which are all normal,) but last week I had a visual migraine, first one for 2 years and another one today, and as a result the male GP who had been sympathetic to HRT is now reluctant to prescribe...but he has done a blood test for oestrogen levels, but I cant see what good that will do??? surely it will be low not having a period for 5 years.

So looks like I will be struggling on..

At least he's listening and being a man, probably doesn't realise that hormone levels alter regularly though out every 24 hours. My Gynea doesn't do blood tests but goes by symptoms  ;)

Most gyna don't go by bloods now as you say CLKD they go on symptoms . Our hospital lab won't even do them if you're 50 plus and GP requests them ! Only if specialist requests and the hospital where my nephew works in labs don't do them as the don't really show anything his words not mine  :-[

Yep.  There's a lesson there.  I do wonder if GPs' give in to various tests as well as prescribing ABs too often rather than listening to their patients!
