Use to get cravings at the time of the month but they seem to come anytime now.
I hate it when you fancy something and you haven't got it :-\

It used to happen all during my fertile years as well. I used to have to have something really sweet and then the next minute it had to be something tangy like a pickled onion or a slice of pickled beetroot and then it had to be something sweet and so on. I thought everyone had the cravings  ;D

For several years, I was unable to eat chocolate as it made me feel rough and I stopped craving it. At Christmas, I was given a box of Belgian flaky truffles by someone who didn't know and I tried one and I felt fine. I ate the whole box over a few days. Now I keep craving for some more..... Well it's my birthday soon and I've put it on my birthday list! Here's hoping!

I did crave watercress and then found my iron levels were low.

I used to get cravings immediately pre-period, usually for very salty or sugary food.  Now I am right off sweet food and not that into food full stop.

My only serious full-blown craving is for gherkins, which I have had all my life, but for some reason was especially bad in my 20s, to the point where I would get up and drive to an all-night supermarket to buy a jar, and would then eat the entire jar while sitting in the car park.  Funny thing is I haven't had it since becoming peri-menopausal.

Any idea what your body is missing when it craves gherkins?

Never Gherkins  ;D - in vinegar? would it be the salt in the pickle?

When I was menstruating regularly I would get really really thirsty pre-bleed - I would get sticks of celery and dip them in water and would eat lots and lots ……

Definitely in vinegar, and it has to be the 'sour' vinegar not the sweet one.  I did wonder about salt, but I would have thought I would crave crisps or cheese instead, especially as I usually have cheese in the house.  It really is an incredibly strong craving, to the point where I can hardly wait to get through the checkout before I start opening the jar.  Always a bit worried that one day I'll just sit down in the aisle and dive in.  ;D

For the last goodness-knows-how-long, I've been craving violet and rose creams.  I love them like no other chocolates and I really must get some!    ::)
