Sorry to read you are feeling bad again.

Have you looked back at your old posts to go over the reasons you stopped in the first place. It might help you make a decision as to whether to start again as from what I remember you didn't feel good on HRT either.

I do understand the need just to feel well again but you really struggled and that's why you stopped.
Have you tried St John's Wort or any of the other ideas that have been suggested to you.

Maybe your GP will help with your decision.

Karen - It's a shame you're not feeling good again.
As Honeyb says, it make sense to look over your old posts to remind yourself of the issues you had. Also, speak to your GP and see what they suggest.

Whatever you decide, it would probably help if you give the new regime a fair chance and stick to it for at least 3 months or so.

Karenja
I agree with others, look over your posts, see how you felt. What was the longest time you stuck to one Regime? Your body will be mixed up a bit, ups and downs. You have to decide if you are taking HRT and stick with it for 3-6 months or going herbal and letting your body adjust again 3-6 months.
I started a thread Look how far I've come, I had just realised one day the difference in me, and I had been through all the anxiety things like you, all those horrible feelings, i tried one HRT 3 months didn't like felt worse, tried herbal 6 months nothing so tried another HRT and stuck with it through all the dips.

Ye Femoston 2/10. I just started that dose last week. Started 1/10 last April and slowly it got into my system, each month getting better. I could have stuck to that dose but felt I wasnt having bleeds and wasn't fully absorbing so started 2/10 and feel extra better. It's just all about persevering with something might take longer than the 3 month mark, it took me 6 to notice any difference then the next 3 to decide on a little extra x

well ive read back over some of my earlier post and they are all basically the same, dizziness, sweats, anxiety, eased a bit by hrt then I had nausea on one, up and down really the longest I stayed on hrt was the everol sequi for nearly three months, going to chat to dr yet again Tuesday see where to go from here maybe worth redoing my thyroid test as they have lost it x

Sometimes your body just needs time to recover from everything we throw at it.

I know it's unrelated but recently I have had stomach problems. I just kept trying more and more stuff in an attempt to feel better. I forgot to stop one thing before I tried another. Hubby called time on it when he discovered just how many things I was taking....he packed me off to the doctors and now I am on one pill rather than the many things I was taking. It's far from perfect but I have only been taking it for a week and feel as if things are settling....

Sorry, just trying to point out that sometimes we need to stop the lot and after a while start again.

It could be that you would benefit from HRT but if you do decide to restart you will have to stick to it otherwise you will be back to where you are now.

Good luck and let us know.

Hi Honeyb

Yes you probably right, well apart from bachs rescue remedy and took one agnus cactus :( I am not on anything and came off hrt about six week ago I think so Ive had a rest, looking back at post Im getting fainty feelings and anxiety on and off hrt but with anxiety to a lesser extent on hrt and now the night sweats are back and occasional flushes these are definitely sorted when on hrt, if im gong back on I don't know what to try next as I feel happier on the patches, ive tried elleste duet tablets, everol sequi patches, then femseven, was given prempack? but didn't even open them, tried estradot and utrogestan, where next?? I understand its the same progesterone in elleste duet as everol sequi, it was different with femseven x

karenja - have you tried Femoston? The progesterone in this one is close to our own hormones and many women seem to report that they actually feel really good on it!!!!
I do think you have been wise to take this break to really identify what meno symptoms you can control.  This time you really must give the HRT a chance to settle before changing anything. My colleague at work who suffered terribly with anxiety has settled very well on Femoston with Citalopram alongside.  I'm not sure whether you are using an AD or SRRI but a combination of HRT with an SRRIs seems often to be necessary to really keep everything under control.
I'd definitely try the Femoston - maybe a sequi version 1/10 to start with and if you are post meno you could then move to the conti version?
Good luck. DG x

I agree with Millykin and Dancinggirl that you should really give each HRT type at least 3 months before deciding to change. You are probably almost post-menopause by now so you should be able to achieve a stable and consistent level of hormones. See if you can work out from your posts how long you were on each type and what the positive and negative aspects were - you might find that if you retry one of them it's not so bad after all.....

By the way I sort of knew this might happen when you reported feeling good after comming off HRT - it can take 3 months for the symptoms to return fully - but didn't want to discourage or worry you - good that you managed to feel OK for a short while anyway! Three months was my longest break (maybe my only break in 8 years) but after this time my symptoms were horrible including some that I hadn't had when I was still peri!!

Hope you manage to come to a decision as to what to ask for.

I would go back and discuss that you think you are post meno and ask for Femoston conti, that way you have steady stream of both hormones going into your body and give it up to the 6 months without adding any other supplements or herbals and see how it goes. Write it down each day how you are feeling and you can look back and see the improvements. X

karenja - Even if you are post meno many of us prefer to use sequential HRT because it means you aren't using Progesterone all this time and you can judge how you feel on the oestrogen only phase and then on the progesterone+oestrogen phase.  If you find you feel good on the 2nd phase you can then switch to the conti version.
Milkykin is right - I should definitely give it 6 months to let it settle and if you are still feeling anxious after 6 months ask for an SRRI alongside.  DG x
