Yes I have.
I should say I wasn't having any sweats or flushes. I needed some help with anxiety reduction, insomnia, aches and general wellbeing. I found it very good.

Hi Jennie
Yes, I have accupunture.  I had accupuncture before menopause symptoms and continue to have treatments every 4 weeks. I have not had severed flushes or sweats, mild I would say, but other things like skin changes, hair changes, anxiety, aches etc.  General 'out of balance' symptoms.

Because the treatment doesn't 'promise' to target one particular thing I can't prove it works in the way that you would see a complete disappearance of symptoms - for me, I am sure it is keeping my body supported while it adjusts to all the changes.  I am certain my symptoms would be more severe without it.  Hope that helps.

Now this would be an ideal question for an alternatives thread

Just today I called to make an appointment for my daughter to have acupuncture. She has epilepsy and anxiety and we're hoping to treat the anxiety then perhaps that might reduce her seizures. I was thinking about making an appointment for myself also for my anxiety so it's good to know Galadriel and BrightLight found it helpful.

Rhubarb, I am sure it will give you both some support.  There are many good accupuncturists and these days very common place, just thought I'd mention it's always good to check they are on the Accupunture Council register, if you haven't checked already :)

Our GP went on a Course many years ago, he requested that we pay for the needles …….. it was too painful for me  :-\ ……...

I have acupuncture every four weeks (wish I could afford every week!) and find it very helpful. As others have said, it's more of a support than a "cure". Just before I came out to for my break to New Zealand I was terribly anxious (worst ever - damn peri! - it's not like I have 't done this trip loads before) and it certainly helped. Don't care if it's just a placebo effect, I'm sticking with it.
