Thank you all so much.  Have been in so much shock that I haven't been on here for a few days.  I have to have chemo first to shrink it then mastectomy etc. Still feel ill with all the worry. But thanks again.
Just want to get on with the treatment asap but so many delays etc.

Sorry to see your bad news. We all go for mammograms, always wondering what the result will be.
Take care of yourself and I hope you are able to get some rest between appointments.

A friend is taking me along to our local cancer maggie centre today.  She has been through it a few years ago.
Going abroad later today, even though I feel so ill with anxiety, hubby very supportive and we feel we should tell our daughter face to face.  Will fly home a few days earlier if to difficult to cope.

It can feel overwhelming.

I had the initial operation followed by further surgery a week later; then a break whilst the wound healed, then a scan to make sure bones weren't affected; they weren't; discussion with the oncologist followed by daily precautionary radiation treatment.  Once I got into the routine I felt less worried because I was back in control.

Have a good trip - I too didn't tell family by letter or 'phone, in fact I didn't tell family until 9-12 months after treatment by which time I was better, the prognosis was good and I didn't have to deal with their feelings!  I got fed up with being brave for other people ………  ::)

Leaving for the airport soon.  I know what you mean CLKD I went to a cancer support centre earlier today and someone working there said you don't have to be strong or brave etc even though people keep saying you have to be!!
