Hi everyone :-)

I'm 53, LMP was end of March 2014 and was very heavy, had a weird 'attack' with it dizziness, ringing in ears, nausea, dizziness so kids took me to A&E.  Tests done, not anaemic, just very heavy period.

Seems like that was the last one (hooray!!) nothing more since.  But last couple of months I've had spells of 'menstrual cramps' like I used to during ovulation.  Having one right now :-(

Like stitch in my left hand side and then cramps across my abdomen.

I have polycystic ovary syndrome and saw gynaecologist last week - reviewing situation and possible operation in May this year.  Large and numerous cysts on right hand side.

Don't really get hot flushes.  I am overweight, have large thyroid goitre, panic attacks, nausea and vertigo.

Wondered if it's okay to get this cramping?  Ticking off the days on the calendar when 12 months is up since last period and keeping fingers crossed that I don't get a bleed until then.

Cramps are annoying, quite strong but not debilitating.  Can't take ibuprofen due to blood pressure tablets.  Heat pad helps but just wondering if it's 'normal'?

Enjoy your evening.

Hello Dimpy23 and welcome to the forum.

I can't help you with your specific question but I do remember my mother having various abdominal pains before her cysts and fibroids were removed so I'm guessing that's the source of your trouble.

It sounds as if your gynaecologist is monitoring the situation but if the pains become severe your GP might be able to fast track you for treatment.

In the meantime wishing you well and I hope you find the forum helpful.
