Lightheaded (faint) perfuse sweating
« on: January 12, 2015, 02:05:44 PM »

Hi

Since reducing my Oestrogel from 4 to 3 pumps I am noticing the difference.

I am suffering perfuse sweats during the day and feel lightheaded (faint) which  scares me and therefore I avoid going out. I get cold following the hot sweats

Should I carry on after 4 weeks hoping things will settle?? I can cope with most symptoms but the light-headedness is horid!

Does anyone else feel this??

I haven't reduced HRT but had been on AB for 2 weeks, I thought I was still unwell but now I think the AB interfered with HRT making it less effective and have spent the last few days with bad sweats, hands and feet worst, feeling light headed and sick. I'm a bit annoyed as I was in a good place until kidney infection, I can't advise what to do but hope someone can and you feel better soon

Definitely felt light headed before HRT, especially in the evening, but less so now I am on it. Used to feel a bit like I had low blood sugar, regardless of what I had eaten. Had blood sugar tested and it was fine. I feel for you as it's up there with palpitations as a scary rather than just annoying symptom, isn't it? x

Hi warwick01  - There are some nasty viruses about at the moment so please don't assume it's HRT at fault if you feel sweaty and faint. 4 pumps per day is quite a high dose and I don't think reducing down to 3 pumps should have such a dramatic effect.
Do make sure your eat regularly - low blood sugar can make one feel faint and cause you to break out in a sweat - small amounts often is the key and keep hydrated as well.
Millykin - ABs make me feel really unwell and you may still have a bit of infection and this will make you sweat and feel sick. Keep drinking plenty of fluids for a while to really help the kidneys to recover. Dg x

Hi

I'm on 2 pumps of estrogel and have been all over the show lately, light headed, dizzy, tearful, dry eyes and a feeling like a tight band around my head. I'm 56 and have been on various hrts for 4 years, estrogel and utrogestan being the longest one.

DG
Finished AB haven't had them in years and forgot what they can do to you! Infection clear as tested urine and only drinking water for few weeks clear my system hopefully. Feel better today
Thanks

Hi - thanks for all your replies.

I'm sure it's not a virus as when I first started peri 6 years ago the lightheadedness off balance feeling was one of the first symptoms I suffered with. It appears it has come back recently with a vengeance along with the perfuse sweating. By the way I am 56 and guess I'm post menopause..........

My poor husband must be fed up as I don't want to leave the house. I was in the garden yesterday and was sweating with lighthead had to come in and sit down.
