Get the turkey and freeze it?  It won't alter the flavour.  With avian 'flu spreading there will be a lack of most home-grown poultry - of course, the PM won't mind importing it!

Many buy too large birds for a family anyway so lots goes into the bin

Does anyone else find that cards bought in a sale one year aren't suitable .........  . I've gone through 3 packets and wondered why

I always do the cooking at Christmas. Just mum and my brother and his wife. My brother never offers to take a turn  but I get my own back by insisting he splits the cost with me  ..
All joking aside, it's bloomin expensive and I'm a poor retired person
