After years of battling with a huge artificial Christmas tree, that my son bought, I bought a new smaller tree in January at a reduced price. Branches like arms with lights attached. No battling again. I don’t bother with other decorations round the house. I’m all for simplifying things. Used to dread putting the old one up as it took so long. The last straw was toppling off the step ladder trying to string the lights on it!  ::)

You R organised!   I had 1 with branches that lit up in different colours until the battery ran out: it was more expensive to replace the battery than buy another tree 🌲  ::)

Nah Jay, think I’ll give that a miss this year. Saying that, I’ll miss the blow up Santa on the doorstep. 🤣😂

Gosh is that what porches are for? Better have one built or perhaps find somewhere for a chimney to be built! I’m obviously missing out!

Our neighbours have a blow up Santa which supposedly climbs a ladder to the chimney - OK until Boxing Day but they leave it up until mid-January  :(  >:(

So: I've dragged most of the decorations no longer required from the loft and spent 2.5 hours sorting.  I know one of the baskets is from 1968 ....... and has travelled with us when ever we moved.

2 boxes will go to the charity shop

2 will go to the food bank - they have a table of odds and sods for users to pick up for a small donation

I will never require C.mas paper  ;D - I was raised to keep, iron and re-use ;-).  Same with cards: I have 10 boxes of 'labels' which will not be used, as we don't send that many gifts.  I feel a shred coming on!

Which is a shame as cards are pretty.  I wish that we had kept ours, swapping every Bday and C.mas ;-).

All my Xmas stuff, tree, decorations, ect….. have gone.
Charity shop had them, as this year, hopefully, I’ll be away for Xmas.
I’ve intended to buy a new tree for a couple years now, but never did, so this is a good excuse to buy one next year. ( if I’m here, might be away again, if I have my way  ;) :whist: ).

Our tree is in the loft, I gave it a nod earlier  ;D.  No space for it in the lounge - it's dressed, ready to be plugged in Hey Presto!

Food bank doesn't want a table of C.mas stuff this year  >:( so charity shop it will be.  5 boxes thus far and still to sort rolls of paper!

I wish that we could give up buying gifts  :-\ 4 people that don't require anything! but DH says 'give it another year'  >:(. I've cut down to something 4 Mum (she won't be aware) and a card, a very close friend and card, DH  :-* and he buys for me.  I've cut cards down too.  Any1 who didn't get in touch through 2019 hasn't had one.
