U C - now that Mum is in care they get C.mas Lunch served to which we are invited. However
So DH cooks our main meal on C.mas Eve in Mum's oven. Pheasant with trimmings. So we eat it cold the next day, in our car, whilst Mum is having her meal in the warm
. We do get an invite to join her. However
We usually have Boxing Day with his brother/wife for which we provide a hunk of beef and they cook it with their veg.. No one has mentioned that we do the same. For several years we took my Mum along which made a nice afternoon for her.
Then we travel home after visiting Mum in the home the next day. She doesn't want us around for long in case someone sits in Her Chair
When we had 4 years here, at home: we would have a brisk walk after breakkies then C.mas pud with custard. Evening meal went on in the afternoon ........... same again Boxing Day: brisk walk, cold meal with chips. We always have pheasant, veggies and a Good Gravy.
