Morning Anxiety
« on: November 03, 2014, 03:50:03 PM »

I am new to this board and wanted to hear about others experience with anxiety, especially morning anxiety during menopause.  I am in post-meno and am going through the roughest spell of this entire menopause journey.  There have been times over the last 3 years when I felt great and thought I was through all this, only for it to come back.  Something changed this past summer.  I had night sweats for 8 weeks in a row, every night. Had never experienced that before. That stopped for a while and now they are back but thankfully not as intense. They occur every morning around the same time.  I have been awakening with anxiety most mornings which is something new. Have experienced this before but not every morning. So, the  last 5 months have been the worst for me.   I haven't had a period for 8 1/2 years so I am surprised that I could be going through all this at this point in time.  My diet is good and I exercise daily.  I feel I do the right things so don't understand all this.  I can't take AD's as I have tried several.  Tried HRT a few years ago and it did not work for me.  Just trying to take  day at a time.

HORMONES  >:( ……….  ::)  :welcomemm:

If the body is hungry it can stimulate anxiety surges - also I feel worse in the mornings and by evening after all my commitments are over, I feel a different person!

hello karenlouise, you are very welcome.

 I have had a similar experience in that I was free of most meno symptoms for 4 months but for the last 8 weeks everything has popped up to remind me it is still very much sharing my life with me - flushes, sweats, morning anxiety, evening anxiety, any time of day anxiety, food cravings and mood swings. So I sympathise with you.

I hold on to the fact that it went away for 4 months so it can do it and, hopefully, will ease off again.  Meanwhile I just deal with each symptom as and when it comes along and some are easier than others aren't they?

Hope you enjoy the forum though, it's a great place to lift your spirits.
