Pets we have known and loved
« on: August 26, 2014, 04:18:49 PM »

A place to put photos or tales of pets we have/had.

This is my cat Roxie - a 'usual' Abyssinnian (that means she is sort of ginger coloured!).

I am looking forward to watching this thread develop. I love animals. I must work out how to post a photo of mine.

I have some pics of cats I have had in the past will have to work out how to post them.

Bramble Roxie is a very good looking cat and her name suits her perfectly.

To post a photo, put it on Photobucket or some such site, then click the 'insert an image ' icon on the toolbar(below the B for BOLD). It comes up with . Put the photobucket link in between the ] and [ brackets so it looks a bit like this . Bingo.

Have got a bucket account with uploaded pics not used it for some years, I do remember now posting pics on MM that way. Blowed if I can remember my password now or if the account is still active will have to investigate.

Swampy, my burmese boy, and Max, my (sort of) tonkinese, in our flat in France. They wouldn't go out much in early days as didn't like the passing scooters! Happy memories

and this is them posing on the back balcony in the morning sunshine:

Hope this works. I hadn't logged into photobucket since 2009.
Silverlady, there is a decent prompt for those (like me) who had forgotten username and password.

Love cats. Also really like dogs though. I don't like the 'either or' mentality. However these two were our children.
Sorry the photos came out so big. I followed the photobucket advice and just copied the IMG code. (is that what it's called).

Bramble, your Roxie is lovely. I meant to type that first up but am eaten up by anxiety tonight. Miss the cuddles. Are Abyssinians cuddle lovers?

Are Abyssinians cuddle lovers?
Definitely yes. I will waken in the middle of the night and she will be tucked into my elbow purring away!

Ohhhhh lovely. Both Bobby and the tucked up in bed, cuddle-purring too. I miss that so much. Swampy didn't like me to move. But we'd wake up and his head would be on the pillow next to ours, body under the duvet. Max just got in and I could just hold his tum and swing him over when I turned over and he didn't mind.

Keep the photos coming!

This was our first greyhound - Mickey (Tall Boy Mick)  He was such a special boy, loved everyone including every other dog he met, was never on a lead and was just one in a million....he started our greyhound journey  :)

Then came Jay (Blonde Boy Jay) - he was a totally different dog, hated all other dogs on sight so we had to find places to walk to avoid them.  In the house he was soppy and loving.....

After a while we decided to add a little girl to the mix - Izzy (Is you Is) and she was just a darling, so sweet and loving.  She had been a mummy several times and someone who lived quite close to us ended up with one of her pups which was quite a coincidence.  Sadly she was a poorly dog having several bad health scares and we lost her at 7 - far too young  :'(

We've loved them all and are now on numbers 4 and 5 although we have fostered other dogs in the past and provided holiday lodgings for friends greyhounds.
