Evoril Sequi Again
« on: August 16, 2014, 08:02:48 AM »

Hi Im on day 7 of patches (50) and due to change this today but as Im going to a spa later and will be using Jacuzzi and sauna may change it tonight rather than this morning as usual, as I don't want new patch coming off?? I do have my anxiety however and maybe a new rush or estrogen will sort it???, also has anybody experience leg pain with these patches, it is actually in the leg where the patch is (on my bottom) its at the top of the leg and comes and go, you cant help but worry about blood clots and things when taking hrt, though very early days on the patches for me

Hi - I would change it later - although Evorel stick fantastically with most women and can be a pain to get off leaving marks which make you look like a giraffe as you use more patches!

As for the sudden rush of oestrogen - this doesn't happen with patches. The hormone is released at a steady rate throughout the week and when you put on a new patch it's just topping up what's already in your system.

It is quite understandable to worry about side effects - especially in the beginning. The usual place for a leg blood clot is in the calf. The calf will be painful and warm to the touch and the pain doesn't come and go  http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Deep-vein-thrombosis/Pages/Symptoms.aspx   It could be that this pain has been there before but you are noticing it now due to the patch making you more anxious. Your next patch will be on the other leg so it will be interesting to see if you get pain in that one too.

Have a great time tonight!
