Hello another newbie........
« on: June 26, 2014, 09:02:03 AM »

Hi, I'm new to the site and have already found it helpful to read some of the postings.  I am 52 and still in peri menopause, (feels like forever).   Had my last period at the beginning of May and a month later went along for routine smear test.  Came back no signs of cancer but some cells from the endometrial lining was found in the smear which I understand can mean there is a problem.  I have been to see the GP who has reassured me that there is probably nothing to worry about but protocol requires me to have a scan.  I have had no unusual bleeding but I can't help but worry.  I am not taking HRT and at the moment no flushes or anything problematic.  GP said it could be fibroids or polyp, I have been experiencing some pain in my lower back but well....... everything becomes scary when you think there is a problem.  Any thoughts, reassurances or shared experiences would be very much appreciated.

Hello Moondance and welcome to the forum.

I don't have experience of your problem but when I was 49 I had heavy bleeding and was found to have a fibroid and was then told that 50% of fifty year old women have them so they are very common.

You have come to the right place for help and support and I'm sure other ladies will be along to give you some good advice.

Take care and keep posting.
