We are not getting it live on terrestrial TV, just the highlights. Hubby won't watch the news until the race is over.
CG probably got it live if she has Sky.

CLKD, I am sitting with two blokes who have both had a couple of beers. really just a couple because I watch.....and they are very very noisy. Add to that daughter who is designated driver for her brother tonight and is moaning she wants to go out.....I just want to sit in a quiet room and ignore them all.
Mind you it is a good race

This thread reminds me of the Commonwealth Games that were held in Edinburgh in the 60's. One of the marathons went past our house. My brother was 6 at the time. He, my Dad and I were standing on the pavement watching the runners go past. There was quite a gap between the front-runners and anybody else. Eventually, the next athlete ran past us and as he did, my brother shouted, nice and clearly as only a six-year-old could, something like - "Come on, hurry up, you're miles behind!" I still squirm when I remember it!
