Never felt right since period in December.
« on: March 13, 2014, 11:14:54 AM »

Guys,
I just don't feel well. I'm having one thing after another.  I have become obsessed with my health but maybe that's because I'm having problems.  I keep thinking that to feel so horrible something must be wrong with me.

I have a fear of doctors, blood tests and investigations and the reason for this is because I am terrified that they will find something bad or that I have some horrible disease. I feel like I will be even more obsessed than I do now!

I am booking an appointment for tomorrow at the doctor because to be honest I don't feel well enough to go right now.

I also have problems with IBS and I'm bleeding slightly.   I also have a boil that comes and goes in the same place,  It occurs every 3 or 4 weeks or maybe longer.  I haven't had a period since December but before that it was 10 months.   I feel mostly unwell in the morning but I'm okay in the afternoon and evening.  What is going on????  I am so fed up with all this!   :'(

Don't worry you are not alone.......I became obsessed with just about every bodily symptom and was forever going to the Doctor which did not help.Part of the menopause is hightned anxiety and it can be about anything, mine was about Health. What helped me was daily mediation I use an online service called Headspace but there are may out there and it helped me focus less on all these dark issues that seem to cloud our daily activities.Try to look at all the good things in you life and practise a more positive mantra do it every day and you will start to feel better.

angelindskie - Everything you describe is quite typical for menopause.  I assume you are not using HRT? Hopefully your doctor will have some blood tests done to reassure you and possibly discuss your options of HRT. I understand your anxious and fearing something terrible is going on but it can get 'out of hand' if you don't address it. Write down all your symptoms and anxieties and the questions you want answered when you see the GP - i hate going to the doctor so I did this at my last appointment and it helped the doctor to look at me in an holistic way and give me the best advice and help.  Keep us posted.  Good luck  DG x

I agree. There are all sorts of things going on in our bodies at this stage in our lives - including potential thyroid problems, sometimes blood sugar metabolism etc as well as menopausal symptoms as Dancinggirl suggests. You definitely should have a blood test, if only to put your mind at rest. Hope all goes well with your doctor and s/he is sympathetic and helpful.

Hi guys,
So sorry to resurrect this post but I was doing a search for mypast postings and saw this old thread.  Thank you to all who responded.  I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier, I must have missed it!

Just a little update --

No period since December. It took me awhile to recover from the Northisterone - not sure I will ever take that again.  I've not gone the HRT route yet - just managing to get through....  I DO have very little energy though. and recently I've got terrible aches and pains.  A lot of my joints hurt - elbow, hip, back....    Just joined a gym and started weightwathchers to tackle the weight.....     Been quite stressed with a house move and my beautiful daughter hasn't been well......  She passed out several weeks ago but that's another story ---  It was quite horiffic for me to see her in such a state - She had what I thought was a seizure -  but anyway, that's another story  - I will fill you in another time....

I hope you are all doing good --  Thanks for being here for me when times get hard.  x
