Hi everyone

I recently started Evorel 50mcgm patches. 3 weeks ago.

I have been doing really well on them but I have noticed that the palpitations return the night before the patch is to be changed and they stop an hour after I put the new patch on.

Anyone else get this?

Thanks for any help.  Really helps to hear people are getting the same thing happen. 

I've got an appt with GP next week to discuss.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Do the patches have to be changed twice a week. I'm on the conti version and I do mine twice.
One patch stays on three days and the other four.

When do you notice....is it before the three day change or the four. The reason I ask is because it could just be a coincidence and now you are expecting it to happen.

Glad to hear the patch is suiting you though.

Yes  I am on the conti and change them twice a week.  The palps seem to be worse at the end of the longer 4 day.  I also get the hot flush at the same time.

I'll see what my GP says.  She is on the same patch and is the same age as me (53).

The patches do slowly run out of hormones but I really doubt if you would notice the difference quite so soon.
Perhaps it's just an unhappy coincidence.
I don't doubt you are feeling something but hormones build up in your body over time and when you stop using a patch or pills it slowly decreases.
It's not something that happens immediately.


Your GP will hopefully be able to help but I think they will probably tell you to stick with it as its early days yet.

When I initially started using patches I had something similar but that was because the levels hadn't built up sufficiently in my body. I used to have to keep the old patch on for 4 hours after putting on the new. Pleased to report that after 3 months, my levels had built up enough and now have no problems.

Ahhh I reckon that makes sense Honeyb and Suzyq.

I started them on the 3rd May so it is early days.

When I was on Femseven I stopped for almost a month before I started on the Evorel so I reckon it is still building up.  I definitely feel better on them than not using anything.

Thanks Honeyb and Suzyq.  I really appreciate your help.  It's a bit of a nightmare getting it all sorted isn't it?

It's a learning curve when you first start. Trouble is GPs dish out the pills or patches as a one size fits all and we are all different.

Keep putting the patches on and things should level out.

My flushes went first and then most things followed after that.

Let us know how you get on. It's good to share experiences.
