If you have an early menopause then you need HRT whether you have bad symptoms or not. Whether you get meno symptoms when you stop taking HRT will be entirely individual and may depend on lifestyle, health issues, life stresses etc.
Taking HRT in peri and post meno stages at the normal age (around 50) is entirely a personal choice and will depend on how much the meno symptoms are affecting your quality of life. Most of us would say " live for today" - if you are suffering badly with meno symptoms nobody can tell you when the symptoms will subside, if ever!!!! Worrying about what will happen when you do have to come off HRT - and many women are now taking it well into their 80s - is not a good way to look at the situation. I lost 3 years of my life because I came off HRT too soon at 49 and gave in and went back on at 53. I'm now 58 and taking another break from HRT and the symptoms are not so bad this time - maybe my body has adjusted better this time, who knows!!!
Instead of asking what will happen when you come off HRT, ask what is your life like now?
If the meno symptoms are reducing your quality of life and you don't have any health issues preventing you from taking HRT, then it may be worth giving HRT a try. Read up all the info under the headings to the left of this screen - perhaps make lists of positives and negatives.
