Storms.

Being told really high tides combined with storm surge. No ferries no trains and I have to go to mum's in the morning. Yes, down the coast road. My other alternative is a one track country road.

You're not having much luck with the weather on the west coast. It's been really stormy, several times a week sometimes.

Could your sister not manage instead if the weather is too wild, or does that involve same coast road?

She is five minutes away from the other direction CG.

I'm the one that has to go along the coast and most of it is just the beach and the road 

Sis is grandchildren watching tomorrow so not really suitable.

I could get fed up with this.

HB - I think the warning emphasis is on the South West, hopefully it won't get as far as you, but not sure   
We aren't near the coast but getting out and about tomorrow may be interesting.

My area has had the weather warnings but I do hope you are right. We are in no danger of flooding as we are up a very large hill.
The Scottish News was broadcasting from the town my mum lives in giving dire warnings.
The last time we had this kind of warning people were going through the streets in canoes. They have build new flood defences since then. Just hope they work.
Think it's the combination of high tides and wind that's the problem this time.

Yellow warning of wind & rain for your neck of the woods. Hope it's not too bad. Keep safe though, you won't be much use to anyone if you get stranded. Let's just hope it's not too bad.

Well the storm has hit. No road closures as yet so will attempt the journey down the coast. I suspect it will be interesting as I only have a little car that gets battered about.

More storms for Monday.

What on earth is going on with the weather. We are well used to this kind of weather just not one storm after another.

It's just been constant HB. No weather warnings up here last night, in fact we were specifically excluded, yet we were hammered with strong winds last night. Still very stormy today.

Well that was a very interesting journey. Very windy on the way down and the car was all over the place. It was quite scary to be honest.

I just made it back home before they closed the coast road. There was one really big flood but I got through.

The sea is awesome. Have not seen it like this for years.

Very glad to be home.

Glad you're safely back! Lots of hail and thunder here not to mention the torrential rain and squally winds. All cats are snuggled on the sofa - they're not daft!

Heading out again soon. Hubby wants to see the sea but heading north this time instead of South.
High tide was just after 1pm so it should be a bit calmer.

Need to give the car a hose down. It's covered in salt

Glad you made it safely there & back again. Wind is relentless, yet met office still not got weather warning on their app for us. Lothian yes, Ayrshire yes, Grampian no.

The railway on the Cumbrian coast is under water - I have a photo of one of the stations with water on the tracks almost to the height of the platforms!  Looks like a canal.

Aberystwyth has caught it, when we lived there all the Hotels/Halls of Residence boarded up the windows so it's pretty 'normal' there.  Blustery here.  Squally light showers.  Wind chilly.

It's the GULF STREAM that is causing this, winds from the States whooshing this way  - 24 hour BBC News explains why over and over and ........ there's a house for sale on the Norfolk Coast, will cost you £25,000 plus funds: sits about 12 feet from the cliff face  .. anyone interested in a house with open views to the sea?

It will be snow next then if it's coming from America. My New York friends are making me jealous by posting FB photos of their beautiful snowfall. All public schools in NYC closed today because of the snow...
