Hi Bev ,  well yest wasn't brilliant really , I was terribly low and the therapist thinks that we can't really consider doing the proper CBT stuff until the sertraline has had more effect, It's odd because the GP  had said the opposite really, he thought the CBT  was better than medication :-\  The therapist is however going to speak to her Supervisor who is a psychiatrist and see what he thinks.   I tend to agree with the therapist because right now I wouldn't be able  to  take much in regarding CBT.   I am seeing her again next week just for a chat and  will probably have to wait until January to find out what the psychiatrist's verdict is :-\  Hoping you have had a better dayxx

Oh no :( the sertraline does have that effect though it must be the increased dose don't worry. I could not have done CBT either when I first started. How much diazepam do you take in a day for example yesterday which was a bad one? Not trying to get you addicted but if it is a low dose you should be able to take more to get you over this hump as sertraline & benzos go hand in hand at the beginning. Don't give up hope you will get better I am sure of it. Big hugs from DSB & me xxxx

Hi Bev, I have been taking I-2 per day of the diazepam 5mgs, yest I just took one but it didn't seem to have much effect,  I find that if I take them when feeling v tearful they don't do much. Maybe I should try taking more.   Hope DSB is doing wellxx

Ha ha no worries! So you are taking a good amount then I was worried you where on 2mg a day or less. Lets see what happens in the next 2 weeks with the sertraline. Just hang on in there & I am sure it will get better. Come on here & shout there is always someone about.
I am a bit sad my husband has just taken two of my dogs for their boosters to the vet, one is my lovely Blossom the nicest dog in the world. She is my last one to be microchipped & I haven't gone with her, wish I had done her earlier in the year now when she had her last appt with me :(  Feel really bad as it can hurt sometimes. Will wrap her in a blanket when she comes home & cuddle her.   Cat gate is nearly over too, we have located a lovely 8 week old tabby boy who is coming tomorrow. I have everything ready. The kids are so excited & he is coming from a lovely home. Getting him some kitten advocet tonight from the vets & he is being microchipped & vaccinated on Saturday. I just hope no nasties come with him, can't risk anything with pups in the house. He is to be called Fluffy ??? and I so hope my husband is strong enough to say no if the kids say can we have two as I am hopeless at being assertive when it comes to animals. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Bev, don't worry about not going to the vet's, you can make up for it big time  to your dogs  when they get home :)    The kitten sounds lovely, my daughter has a gorgeous grey tabby called Merlot and she  is a real softie and very affectionate, despite all  the tail pulling and  being chased around by Alex,  (my grandson) ;D        Are you still not up to going out?  I am sure that will come in time
 - you are making such good progress :)    I know what you mean about being soft with animals, after suzi our twenty two year old cat died I said no way would I go through  the heartache of losing a pet again, but my youngest daughter nagged and nagged until I gave in and we got another one, Tilly a black and white typical 'Felix' cat.
Thanks for all your help, Love Mags :thankyou:xx

It does pass.  But it seems to take ages sometimes  :sigh:  I try not to look too far forwards but at this time of year it is more difficult!

:thankyou:  should be OK by mid-January  ;)

As for Valium, one doesn't become addicted suddenly!  If you find that 5mg isn't enough then take 1 tablet then another 3 hours later. It is getting a maintenance dose that works for you that is important at this time of year.

CBT never helped me.  I was way too far down the line  ::)  .......... the longer the body has been in flight/fight response often the longer it takes for the brain to settle, after all these symptoms go back to our Cave-man days  ::) and are engrained in our survival instincts.

Have you tried making a list so tha t you see what you do achieve each day?
