Did I imagine it or during WWII, were people limited to 1oz butter and an egg each per week  :-\

Thinking about how buyers will need to adjust their grocery shopping because prices are rising: mayB beans on toast without butter or sauce?  Egg on toast without butter or sauce?  Also the catering industry needs to mayB cut back on how large portions often aren't eaten up, I know our restaurant well enough to ask for a spare plate and cutlery so that I can share the portion of fish, chips and peas with DH.

Is anyone adjusting the way they serve meals?

Media are quoting various supermarkets who may be rationing cooking oils.  Especially sunflower. However, I was in a deli last week and there are plenty of oils in the shops: not necessarily sunflower, so do look at what else is out there, paritucalry if you make salad dressings.  DH uses walnut oil as well as using others for cooking, including a slosh of olive: what's wrong with a slab or marg   :-X or a little butter?  No need to panic buy!

There is a farm in Lincolnshire that grows sunflowers for the bird seed trade  ::).  MayB we shouldn't be importing as much oil anyway.

What do others use?

And fish and chip prices are rising.  Apparently  ::)

It was quite good.  It's known as Peri Peri chicken and it's a blend of spices that's unique to the dish...not sure which ones though  ;D I think it's like a dry rub because there wasn't a sauce like a BBQ sauce.

Ooh. I’m cooking butter 🐔 with a huuuggge naan and basmati rice. Scrumdiddlyumptious  ::)

BTW, I’m so sad  :-\ as nobody seems to be playing the ‘add one word’ or ‘three word game’ anymore.  :'(
Oh dear ladies, please will someone play? - I look forward to checking it every day - I know, I’m so sad  ;D

 :bighug: to everyone…

Chicken escalopes with white wine sauce, dauphinois potatoes and cumin roasted carrots…..
Followed by sticky toffee pud and ice cream - clearly we’re having low fat options tonight  :o
Going on a week’s cruise in 3 weeks time - I’m back in my favourite jeans so no dieting for me  ;D

Tonight is slow cooker pulled pork on Kaiser buns, creamy coleslaw, oven-roasted potato wedges, and salad.  I'm just about to put the pork in the pot to cook for 5 hours.
