Last night, just before getting into bed I was dimly aware of a largish brown lump on the floor, I thought it was a leaf. But, I didn't have my lenses in and couldn't really see, so popped the emergency glasses on. I was confronted with a massive spider (3" across the legs, 1/2" body)
I am sure it was taunting me, doing the spider version of the New Zealand Haka. I remained calm and grabbed a piece of kitchen roll which was handy and covered the offending beast. Then grabbed the whole thing and sprinted outside, to dump the whole handful. Can't comment on the state of the spider, as I didn't look.
The bad news is, the bedroom windows and patio doors have been open all day because of painting. Goodness knows what will be in here tonight.
Honeyb, did you know spiders can bite? I think Pixie has a well balanced approach.
