Well Bette, fruit pudding looks like black pudding but is white with fruit in it.
It's made from flour, suet, brown sugar, currants, sultanas and sometimes a wee bit of cinnamon in it. It's made into a sausage shape, sliced and fried ( though I sometimes grill it to kid myself on its healthier)
It's a traditional Scottish dish.
I love it but sometimes substitute it with a bit of fried Clootie Dumpling which is another traditional fruit pudding. My Gran used to make them by putting the mixture (which had sixpence coins in it ) into a muslin cloth and boiled in a large pot. The smell was heavenly and if you got a slice with a coin in it then you were over the moon.
